Mark William Schiele

Mark William Schiele, age 52, of Grand Haven, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 29, 2023. Mark was born on July 2, 1970 in Grand Rapids, MI to Donald and Fredrica Schiele. He attended Spring Lake High School and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Nunica. Mark lived a simple life. He was kind-hearted and social. He loved to talk and had the ability to make friends with anyone he met. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his parents and going on family vacations. He loved to dog-sit for his sisters and talk with them on the phone. One of Mark’s greatest joys was simply being “Uncle Mark” to his nine nieces and nephews. He loved making special memories with them and celebrating their accomplishments. Mark recently celebrated 13 years of sobriety and would not hesitate to share his Experience, Strength and Hope with others who struggled with addiction. Mark’s faith in Jesus Christ carried him through all that life brought to him. Mark was a blessing to all who knew him and will be greatly missed for his kind and friendly spirit. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fredrica “Fritz” Schiele. He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Donald Schiele; siblings, Susan (Michael) Waugh, Pamela (Aaron) Parker, Michelle (Marlon) Bramble, Angela Helmer; nieces and nephews, Phillip, Paige, Noah, Nicole, Gabrielle, Justin, Aaron, Mari, Primrose. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 17122 2nd St., Nunica, MI on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11am with a luncheon to follow. Rev. Dennis Lassanske will preside over the service. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10am. Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mark to Hospice of North Ottawa Community, Tri-Cities Alano Club of Grand Haven, or the St. Luke Church Memorial Fund.
