Remembering Mark Spliedt

Mark Patrick Spliedt, age 72, of Jenison, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 and went to be with the Lord. Mark loved volleyball, bowling, camping, fishing, and carpentry. He was an engineer at X-Rite for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annabell and Robert Spliedt; sister-in-law, Roberta “Bobbie” Spliedt. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his son, Jacob Spliedt and Carolann Scully; daughter, Lacy Spliedt; brother, Denny Spliedt; mother of his children, Kari Colley; and many close friends.

A private gathering in his honor will be held this summer at his favorite spot on the Pine River.

When My Career took me into Sporting Goods, Mark Became My Lead Pro Staffer On Fenwick Fishing among others. He was driven, Hard working and with a Constant desire to enjoy life in the amazing Michigan Outdoors. From Volley Ball to Slalom He did it all and did it well. A Life well Lived ..

I worked with Mark for several years at X-Rite and him and Kilo lived with me for a while. We spent time together enjoying the Coast Guard Festival as well as other gatherings. I was sorry to hear of his passing and will miss that togetherness. But I will remember him and the times we had always and with a smile.

I am very sorry to hear about Marks passing. I worked alongside Mark for several years at X-Rite. Mark was always a delight to work with, smiling and found a way to bring joy to work each day. Our prayers are with Mark's family at this time. -Jeff McKee

I worked with Mark in 2018 and 2019 with electronics compliance parts at X-Rite. It was always great to laugh, talk about wild stories, and share the day. Mark was always talking about his kids and how much joy they gave him. When the conversation came up about kids (and he had many photos in his desk area), he would grin from ear to ear. It was such a pleasure getting to know Mark and his incredible personality. Mark will truly be missed. -Chris Van Meter

I worked with Mark for many years at X-Rite. He was a really great guy to work with, always had a smile on his face, and was easy to share a laugh with. He introduced me to Fat Man's Fish Fry many years ago which was a blessing and a curse! Mark will be missed.
