Marjorie Stephens

Marjorie (nee Mulder) Stephens, age 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday November 25th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie, in 1993, her brother, James Mulder, sister Frances Bailey and grandson, Bryan Knapp. She is survived by her children, Gary (Marsha) Stephens of Cedar Springs, Karen (David) Rasmussen of Rockford and Juleen Stephens of Greenville; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Margie was born in Grand Rapids on November 22, 1922. She owned a yarn shop in Langston, Michigan and has taught hundreds the craft of knitting. She later spent many years as a salesperson for Millard's Furniture in Stanton, Michigan. Margie was an active member of Langston Bible Church and later Huggard Bible Church in Sand Lake. Following Jesus was at the center of her life. In retirement, she was a devoted volunteer serving many summers as camp cook at Pine Ridge Bible Camp in Cedar Springs, visiting homebound seniors through the Senior Neighbors Program, visiting and playing games with residents at the Brown Home and Fulton Manor and assisting at an adult care center in Rockford until age 93. Her children, grands and greats brought joy to her life, she supported their every interest and taught them to love the Lord, knit, can tomatoes and play Uno. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 3, 2018 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour before the service at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution be made to Pine Ridge Bible Camp.
