Marilyn Ruth King

Marilyn Ruth King, age 78, dear child of God, entered into the glory of her Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.  “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”  Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Johannes and Jessie King and her brothers, Roger and Gordon King.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Phyllis King and several nieces and nephews.  She will also be greatly missed by her “adoptive families”, Roger and Mary Lynn Wesorick, Rev. Mitchell and Grace Kay Dick.  A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids and Wyoming, MI, Marilyn retired from employment with the Kent County Juvenile Court.  In early retirement, she enjoyed volunteering as a reading tutor at Hope Protestant Reformed School.  Indoor plants and outdoor flower gardens were her chief delight in nature.  She was a member of Walker United Reformed Church and despite many health challenges, remained a gentle, cheerful soul who trusted her God for all things.  Many thanks to the staff of the Christian Rest Home who gave her loving care with dignity in her final months.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Rev. Mitchell Dick officiating.  Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Christian Rest Home.
