Marilyn Kay Schurman (Dykhouse), age 76, of Hudsonville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents, John and Mamie Dykhouse; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Martha Schurman; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Evie Dykhouse. Marilyn was kind and giving and always put others before herself. She loved to bake and cook, and used that gift to provide for others at her church and in her community. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joanne Schurman; her “grandpuppy”, Riley; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dan Ebels; several loving nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11 am at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 6475 40th Ave., Hudsonville, with Rev. Jack Dik and Rev. Marc Nelesen officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Thursday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be given to Feeding America.

So sorry to hear about Marilyn, I hope that you find comfort in the loving memories shared with Marilyn and also find comfort from Acts 24:15 which tells us of the resurrection hope to look forward to in the near future. May Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ give you comfort and endurance during this sad time.
