Marilyn Kay Dunlap, age 84, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16, 2023. Marilyn was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marilyn’s faith was extremely important to her and was a witness to many family members and friends. She was devoted to her church and her community. Marilyn was an overcomer who fought the good fight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Dunlap; mother, Kathryn Young; brother, Dick Young; and brother-in-law, Gene Chase. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barbara Dunlap, Kimberly (Timothy) Mol, Bruce Dunlap, Jeff Dunlap; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Chase; brother, Jerry (Barbara) Young; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Chaplain David Veldt officiating. Burial Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation.
