Marilyn Chapel

Marilyn Sue Chapel, age 69, of Jenison, was peacefully called home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Marilyn was a kind and loving wife, aunt, and friend to many and was blessed with a great sense of humor. Over the years, Marilyn enjoyed doing crafts and projects, especially making cards with her stamps and making jewelry. She also enjoyed many road trips in the car taking in the many beautiful sights around our beautiful state. She was preceded in death by parents Edward and Katherine De Koster. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Richard Chapel; sister, Elaine and Mike Ogden; brothers, Bob De Koster, Tom De Koster; nieces and nephews, Louis and Jennifer Benes and their children Andrew and Megan; Christopher and Jessica Ogden and their children Hunter, Carter, and Tucker. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Ray Paget officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The graveside service will take place on Thursday at noon at Georgetown Township Cemetery prior to the visitation and service. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Matters Worldwide.
