Marie Nevins

Marie Nevins (Doornbos), age 68, of Jenison, was called to her heavenly home after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Marie was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who dearly treasured her family and friends. She was blessed with a servant’s heart and loved to talk with people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Marilyn Doornbos. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Dennis “Dan” Nevins; children, Jennifer and Joel Keegstra, Steve Nevins, Tom and Tammy Nevins; grandchildren, Kyle, and Alex Keegstra, Carter, and Cooper Nevins; siblings, Mike and Lori Doornbos, Denny and Helen Doornbos, Jim and Debbie Doornbos, Linda Doornbos, Mary and Alan Coscarelli; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Renee and Pat Fortney, Don Rozema, Tammi Turner, Terri and Dan Gard; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, with Fr. Stephen Durkee officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, July 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation on Thursday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Lack’s Cancer Center.
