Marie Hammer

Marie Hammer, aged 80 of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P.; and siblings, James DeVries, Maxine Oros, and Martha Dykstra. She is survived by her children, Diane (Ed) Rosloniec of TN, Robert (Nancy) Heinrich of Jenison, Barbara (Ronald) Stuitje of Kentwood, James (Amy) Hammer of CT; stepchildren, John Hammer, Helen Uplinger; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her many friends at Cutler, Lee Street Church, and 54th Street Meijer Deli. Marie was a designer of children’s clothing at Cutler. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a longtime resident of Heartland Crestview Nursing Home. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, on Wednesday from 4-7 pm and on Thursday beginning at 10 am prior to the service. Funeral services for Marie will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Kent Rottman officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
