Marian Ruth Van Enk (nee Boss), age 92, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2026. She was comforted by both her daughters as well as her beloved cat, Zeke. She was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. 

Marian was the second oldest of four daughters born to Frederick and Evelyn Boss. She graduated from Godwin Heights High School and obtained certificates in bookkeeping but worked primarily as a homemaker throughout her lifetime. Marian married Peter Van Enk in 1952 and after moving to Tucson, Arizona and Toledo, Ohio so Pete could finish training as a barber, they settled in the Grand Rapids area where they raised their two daughters. 

Surviving Marian are her sister, Shirley Darling; daughters, Sandra Van Enk-Giardiello (Jon) and Evelyn Van Enk (Jeffrey); her grandchildren, Jon, Michael, Chandler (Danielle); Connor and Marie; her great-grandchildren, Jonah, Bianca and Noa; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; and two sisters, Barbara Vander Mey and Joanne Postema. 

The family wishes to extend immense thanks to the very special people at Emmanuel Hospice and MECA's Angels without whose loving care keeping Marian in her home until her passing would not have been possible. 

A private family celebration of life will take place in the future. Donations in Marian's memory may be made to Emmanuel Hospice in Grand Rapids or MECA's House of Angels.
