Marian Scholten

Marian Scholten, age 96, of Jenison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Marvin Scholten on April 14, 2014; her parents, John and Jennie Mulder; sister, Agnes Pullen.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren, Mary and Paul Stroo (Kim and Jeff Beyer with their children, Bridget, Toby; Todd and Michelle Stroo with their children, Lexie, Taylor, Kelsie),  Tom and Sandy Scholten (Tom, Jr. and Melissa Scholten with their children,  Justin, Ashley; Brian and Candi Scholten with their children, Raeanne, Branden; Doug Scholten with his daughter,  Makena; Mike and Julie Scholten with their children Kadance, Carter), Cindy Scholten; sister, Jean Thompson; sister-in-law, Cora Scholten; many nieces and nephews.  Marian and Marvin were charter members of Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11 am at Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 7581 12^th Ave., Jenison, with Rev. Mark Bennink and Rev. James Evenhouse officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at church prior to the service.   Memorial contributions may be made to a Christian school of your choice.  A special thank you to Marian’s longtime caregiver, Mary Oosterhouse and nurse, Judy Schilling of Health Care Associates for all their loving care.
