Marian Joan Mulder

Marian Kuipers Mulder, 84, was freed from this world to be with her Lord on August 30, 2023. Small-town farm-raised, she married her high school sweetheart, moved to the city, and caringly and capably raised their 4 children. She diligently supplemented the family income, progressing from home projects to outside jobs in service and accounting. Marian faithfully served her church through catering and choral singing. She made many long-term friends from school, church, and exercise sessions. Her final challenge was enduring debilitating ailments, especially following the passing of her devoted husband, Roger. She will remain loved and admired by her children and grandchildren: Randal Mulder, David and Jane Mulder (Kathleen and David Scrace, Jonathan Mulder, Andrew and Anna Mulder), Linda and Scott Jongsma (Rebecca and Bryan Hoekstra, Joshua and Lauren Jongsma, Samuel Jongsma), Sharon and Bruce Dykstra (Megan and Kyle VanDeWeert, Eric Dykstra, Ryan Dykstra); great-grandchildren: Elam, Everly and Judah Hoekstra, Walter Scrace, Ellison Jongsma, Brady VanDeWeert, Theodore Mulder; sister, Agnes VanHouten; brother-in-law, Cal Powers; sisters-in-law: Lillian Westdorp, Kathleen Ponstine, Mae Mulder, Lois Mulder, June Mulder; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center, with Rev. Dan Mouw officiating. The burial will take place at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, September 5, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Calvin Christian High School, Unity Christian High School or South Christian High School.
