Maria Tranca

Maria Tranca, age 84, of Grand Rapids, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Gheorghe; son and daughter-in-law, Mircea and Monica Tranca; grandchildren, Nicole, and Daniel; brothers and sisters in Romania, Rety Boriceanu, Elena Botea, Sandy Dumitrescu, Florica and Traian Bartoc, Gina and Gigi Nedelciu, Costel and Aurelia Manolescu; cousins from the US, Silvia Carabulea, Gigi Carabulea, Dana Talaba, Nicu Talaba; many nieces and nephews. Maria was known for her wonderful cabbage rolls and walnut bread. Most of all she was known and respected as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held on Friday 2 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Fr. Daniel Pop officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

My sincere condolences to the family members during this difficult time. I just want to share a scripture that has strengthened me when I lost a loved one.I pray it soothe the pain you are experiencing and give you strength to continue to cope. Isaiah 41:10 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. We have known Maria and Gheorge as their neighbors for the last 4 years, we never were able to communicate effectively, but they always struck us as a couple that was fiercely independent and dedicated to their family. We wish we could have known them even better, but have been blessed to know their simple and generous spirits thus far. One thing Maria communicated so well was how much she loved children and she always doted on ours. She will be missed.
