Maria Luise (Hormann)  Davis

Maria Luise Davis (nee Hörmann), aged 78, passed away in the presence of her family on Sunday, October 19, 2014.  Maria was a woman of exceeding courage and grace.  Wonderfully generous and loving, she was also an advocate for the humane treatment of all God’s creatures.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward C. Davis; her daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Richard Strom; her son, Kurt Allen Davis; her granddaughter; Rachel Josephine Strom; and her special canine friends, Harley and Lance.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Xaver and Josephine Hörmann. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 23 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew at 10:00am (9:30am visitation at the church prior to the Mass). The presider will be Fr. John Kenny, CSP.  Due to the extraordinary efforts of the doctors and staff of the Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center, we request contributions be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
