Maria Corina Herrera

Maria Corina Herrera, age 79, of Grand Rapids, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, February 9, 2025.  She was helpful and loving to many people throughout her life. Corina loved growing flowers, crocheting, and canning many vegetables from their garden.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Ruben Sr.; children: Ruben Herrera Jr., Amy (Ray) Childs, Gabriel (Sheila) Herrera; grandchildren: Ashley (Randy) Bazzett, Reynaldo Herrera, Rebecca (Marlon) Broyles, Rayallen Childs, Javan Childs; Godson, Daniel Perez; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Consuelo Perez, Armando (Diana) Garza; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Adan and Eloisa Garza; siblings: Conception Garza, Adan Garza Jr., Carmela Garza, Ali (Rosemary) Garza, Abelino (Hilda) Garza.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Francis Xavier, 250 Brown St. SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Edwin Carreño presiding.  A private burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 Division Ave, Wyoming, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to consider the needs of the family.
