Marguerite Palczewski

PALCZEWSKI- Marguerite "Peggy" Palczewski, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Palczewski; parents, Pearl and Richard McCabe; sister, Sally (Joe) Vollmer; brother, Dick (Barb) McCabe. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Frank "Sonny" ; and their children, Scott (Lisa) Palczewski, Karen (Jim) Dailey, Tim (Mary) Palczewski, Kim (Dave) Bouwens; grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Welles, Kathryn Palczewski, Nicole (Luke) Dombrowski, Auna Dailey, Courtney Bouwens, Brianna Bouwens, Megan (Adam) Schreur, Jenna Palczewski and Tyler Palczewski; great grandchildren, Alexis and Carter; sister, Deborah O'Dell; sister-in-law, Lillian Sorensen; step-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Stella; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peggy was happiest with a houseful of family at the holidays. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought joy to her life, but the love of her life was Sonny. Their love story started in high school and will last an eternity. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Shelley Drew, Dr. Dennis Besley, the Dominican Sisters and the caring and compassionate staff at Marywood Health Center specifically Marta, Becky, JoAnne, Jack Wood and Lupe for doing so much extra for Peggy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids. Her family will greet relatives and friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE., and one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Northview Education Foundation or St. Jude's Capital Projects Fund.
