Marguerite “Gete” Vredevoogd

Marguerite “Gete”  Vredevoogd, age 88, of Jenison, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 19, 2018 and is reunited with her Marvin.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Don Schepers, Gert (George) Mulder, Elmer (Faye ) Schepers, Lewis Schepers; brothers-in-law, Al Totten, Clarence Vredevoogd, Alvin Schepers, and Dick Winkel.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Elaine and Eric Christrup, Lori and Chris Wysocki, Randy and Deb Vredevoogd; grandchildren, Faith Christrup, Seth Christrup, Emily and Tony Humphrey, Ken and Lisa Wysocki, Curt Vredevoogd, Eric and Jess Vredevoogd, Mikel and Marisa Vredevoogd; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Barb Totten; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth Schepers, Marguerite Schepers-Ettema, Gert Winkel, Esther Schepers, Jo Vredevoogd,  Jack and Lois Vredevoogd, Dennis and Peggy Vredevoogd, Wilfred and Sandy Vredevoogd, Calvin and Jan Vredevoogd, Larry and Phyllis Vredevoogd, Harry Vredevoogd, Joyce Vredevoogd, Ana Vredevoogd; and many nieces and nephews.  Gete was a devoted mother, master puzzler and a formidable Scrabble opponent.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Rick Kiekintveld officiating.  Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Georgetown Manor and Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of mom.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Baruch Senior Ministries - Georgetown Manor or Spectrum Health Hospice.
