Margaret M. Jones

Margaret M. Jones, aged 89 of Grand Rapids, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Allen; parents, William and Alta Callan; brothers, Leonard, Bernard and Gerald. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard; a loving mother to her children, Kathy Jones, Pat (Clarence) Slaughter, Alta (Rich) Gordon, Mickey Jones, Rick (Teresa) Jones Jr., Claudia (John) Russell, Ed (Carey) Jones, Becky (Tim) Achee, Bobbi Shoemaker, Evie Hall; 32 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Margaret was a caring, kind and warm person, the living embodiment of love, graciousness, generosity, humility and humanity. She loved to collect dolls and crochet. So many of us were lucky enough to receive her beautifully crocheted baby sweater sets that she lovingly made. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Friday at 1 pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE with Fr. Phil Shangraw officiating. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 am until the time of the service.
