Margaret Folkerts

Margaret Folkerts, age 92, of Jenison, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025. She was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on March 29, 1933, the daughter of Abel and Florence Bos. She married Joseph Folkerts on October 4, 1950, and they resided much of their life in Schaumburg, Illinois. Margaret was a member of Faith Protestant Reformed Church in Jenison. She was the church pianist in Illinois for many years and also enjoyed time spent in her flower garden. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Folkerts, Jr.; her loving daughter, Rose Iwema; and her loving son, Joseph Folkerts III; sister, Alice Stob; brother, Ken Bos; brothers-in-law, Al Stob, Ellerd Folkerts, Jack Folkerts, and sister-in-law, Florence Folkerts. She is survived by her daughter, Judy and Richard Reyenga; son-in-law, Fred Iwema; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Theresa Folkerts and Paula Bos; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Clayton Spronk officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9:30 - 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
