Marcia Walcott

Marcia Walcott, age 72, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 10, 2023. Marcia worked as a court reporter for many years, working for the Ottawa County Courts. Her biggest loves were baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Marcia was incredibly hard-working and a generous soul. She always found the good in others and would encourage others and help them to be the best versions of themselves possible. She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson DeVries; sister, Judy VanDyken, and brother-in-law, Dennis Taylor. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tami (Brian) Carter, Joel (Tryna) Walcott; grandchildren, Remi, Ethan, Raegan, Makayla, Noah, Griffen, and Scarlett; mother, Marie DeVries; siblings, Karen (Roger) VanDyke, Bette Taylor, Rick (Phyllis) DeVries, Lori (Scott) Nowlen, Cork (Mary Jean) DeVries; former husband, Tom (Kim) Walcott; brother-in-law, Rich (Linda) VanDyken; and many nieces and nephews. An open house to celebrate Marcia’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Iglesia Alas de Aguila, 6375 Winans St., Allendale, MI, 49401. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Dream Center or the Harbor Humane Society.
