Marcia Jean Coolsen

Marcia Jean (Savara) Coolsen, age 89, of Kentwood, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Paul and Judy Coolsen, Pauline Norton and fiancé, John Raquet; grandchildren, Chuck and Nickie Coolsen, Sheila and David Snow, Ty and Angie Wattles, Alescia Moon; great grandchildren, Drew and Edward Coolsen, Olivia Jean Centala, Trenton and Alayna Wattles; several sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews and their families. Marcia learned to cook from her mother Josephine and enjoyed sharing that legacy with her family. With love and kindness, she was a natural caregiver who instilled the value of family to the next 3 generations. Marcia had deep empathy for others, listening and then always remembering what mattered most to them. It was always more about what she could do for others than about herself.

Memorial services will be held 11 am Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, July, 24, from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. A private burial at Mt Calvary Cemetery will take place.
