Marcia Jaarsma

Marcia Kay Jaarsma, age 78, of Allendale, went home to her Heavenly Father with family by her side on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Generous with her time and spirit, she loved volunteering at IKUS and at Allendale Public Schools for the preschool program. She had a passion for gardening and took pride in canning the fruits of her labor. Truly an angel on earth, she was known for her kindness, her big heart, and her unwavering work ethic. She always put her family first and lived each day with love and purpose. Most importantly, she had a deep and abiding faith and a profound love for the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roger Jaarsma. Marcia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dawn and TJ Koekkoek, Rod and Michell Jaarsma, Ron and Alisha Jaarsma; grandchildren, Justin and Lilee Koekkoek, Jared, Jayce, and Kaylin Koekkoek, Alecia and Jake Fryman, Hunter and Amanda Jaarsma, Emma Jaarsma; great-grandsons, Lukas Fryman, Finnegan Jaarsma; brother, Bob and Natalie Moll; and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at North Blendon Reformed Church, 7224 Taylor, Hudsonville, with Rev. Mark Neymeiyer officiating. The burial will take place at Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 1, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to IKUS Life Enrichment Services.
