Mae Leona Baker

Mae Leona Baker, age 97, of Grand Rapids, Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 28, 2024.  Mae was a kind and loving woman and was a light to those around her.  She had a great personality that allowed her to make friends easily.  At the age of 90 she was baptized and became a faith member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.  Mae enjoyed Nascar and Loved hockey, especially the Red Wings and the Griffins, but what she loved the most was being there for her family and supporting them in all of their endeavors.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Baker; Her sons, Roy D. Baker, Paul Baker, Terry A. Thompson, John Baker, and Joe Baker.  She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Ronald Thompson, Pete Baker; daughters-in-law Nancy Thompson, Chris Baker; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, December 31 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Chris Rubino officiating.  Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood and 2 hours prior to the service on Tuesday from 10am to noon. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
