Mabel Little

LITTLE - Mrs. Mabel R. Little age 93 of Elberta, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Surviving are her beloved husband of 73 years, Allen L. Little; children, Mary Jo (Dick) Putney, Morris B. Little; grandchildren, Kimberly (Todd) Nordquist, Michelle (Kirk) Amador, Patricia A. Little; great grandchildren, Wesley Nordquist, Ashlee and Drew Amador; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Allen William; daughter-in-law, Patsy Little; great grandsons, Alex and Grant; her 12 brothers and sisters. Mabel was born on December 30, 1919 to Chester and Nellie Summerfield. Her greatest joys were her family, baking, her Church, entertaining, family reunions and joy rides with Allen. Mabel enjoyed visiting and helping everyone and never met a stranger. Mabel was very active member in the Elberta United Methodist Church serving as choir director, and a member of the Women's Society for many years where she served as both secretary and treasurer . She also worked at the "Next to New" which helped raised monies for the church. A celebration of Mabel's life will be held 1:00PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Elberta United Methodist Church, 555 Lincoln Ave. Her family will greet relatives and friends Sunday from 4 to 8PM at the Jowett Funeral Home, 7223 South Street in Benzonia and one hour prior to the service at Church. Interment Gilmore Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mabel's memory may be made to the Elberta UMC or the American Cancer Society.
