Mabel Cain

Mabel Eileen Cain (Aue, Cooper), age 79, passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Mabel loved to travel, bowl, go to craft shows, casinos, and spend time with her family and friends. She worked at Nelson Metal Products and was the Union Unit Chairperson of Local 19 for many years. One of her favorite activities was driving back and forth between Michigan, New Jersey and Kentucky to her daughters' homes with her dog, Missy, by her side. Mabel also loved caring for two young boys, Giancarlo and JanAndre Castro, during the school year and she loved them dearly. Mabel grew up in Muskegon, and split her time between Grand Rapids, New Jersey and Kentucky. Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debi (David) Scholar of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and Sue (Mike) Case of Corinth, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Laurynn Scholar of Boston, Massachusetts, Justin Scholar of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Ryan and Sean Case of Kentucky; her great granddaughter, Ryleigh Case; her sister, Joyce (Larry) Thompson of Orlando, Florida; her beautiful Maltese, Missy; and a host of relatives and dear, close friends. Mabel was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maggie and Otto Aue; her sisters, Edith Hull and Doris Taylor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 14 at Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 7 to 9 PM.
