Lynn S. Schumacher

Lynn S. Schumacher, age 79, of  Alto, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George M. Schueder and Lucille (Morris) Schueder. She is survived by her husband of 57 years William “Bill” Schumacher; children, Sue (Tim) Heffner, William “Bill Jr.” Schumacher, Jeff Schumacher, Deb Schumacher; two grandchildren, Keagan and Brody Heffner; one sister and brother in law, Gail (Terry) Herbruck; a special niece, Amy Herbruck. She was a proud Michigan State University grad of 1960. She and her husband, developed the Kent Special Riding Program, an innovative therapeutic horseback riding program. K.S.R.P. was held at the Schumacher family farm for 42 years, serving over 9000 special needs adults and children in West Michigan.  Lynn was a proud mom, supporting her children and grandchildren, through Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4H, Caledonia Athletic Boosters, she was their biggest fan. Private family services were held. Contributions to the Hauenstein Center at St. Mary’s Hospital, 220 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 would be appreciated.
