Lyle Gene Russell

Lyle Russell, age 76, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jesse Russell. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, of 42 years, Judy; children, Steve and Jeannie Umbarger; grandchildren, Coty Umbarger, Kayli and Dakota Smith, Bradley Jessie; 2 great grandchildren; Harrison Umbarger, Simon Umbarger; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Wayne Hall; and special family friends, Trisha and Dan Hemphill, Jean Taylor, Grace Taylor, Helen Taylor. Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, January 5, at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Rev. Rick Rush officiating. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Heart Association. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Hathaway Hills Assisted Living Memory Care and Hospice for their love and care toward both Lyle and Judy.
