Lyle Edward Wright

Lyle (Pete) Edward Wright, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1932, in Demur, Michigan to Burl and Laura (Scott) Wright. The family moved to Muir, Michigan where he grew up and joined the United States Airforce. After honorably serving in the Airforce, Lyle (Pete) moved to Belmont, Michigan to raise his family. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with the Goldwing Club Chapter G, tinkering on cars, collecting Volkswagen buses, deer hunting, and spending time with his wife and family on the Rouge River. Lyle (Pete) was a one-of-a-kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sherrell (Heible); daughters, Kim Olen (Kelsey and Karley), Lisa Hunt (Nicholas), Nicole Fein (Paul and Grant); son, David Pinney (Danielle); 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John Heible and Al Heible; sisters-in-law, Sue Heible and Lori Moyer; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Laura; sister, Jane (Wynn) Heemstra; brothers-in-law, Bill Heible and Clayton Heible; sisters-in-law Debbie Simons and Beverly Heible. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. at Stegenga Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI 49306.The family would like to express their gratitude to the CorsoCare hospice team for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
