Lyle Dyer

DYER - Mr. Lyle H. "Rex" Dyer, Jr., aged 74 of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, whom he was devoted to and loved for 45 years; also surviving are their children and grandchildren, Scott (Donna) Dyer their children, Cory and Ashlee, Jackie (Tom) DeNio their children, Megan, Jacob, Ryan and Emma, Kim (Andy) Bronkema their children, Lauren, Kelli and Mallory, Craig Dyer and his fiance (Chris Ratajczak); brothers, Mickey (Susan) Dyer, John Conrad (Jeanie) Dyer; sisters, Nancy (Vern) Covell, Mary (Dave) Engstrom. Rex retired from Penn/Conrail and Spartan Stores. He was a true example to all of how to stand firm in your Christian faith. He treated everyday as a gift from God and knew one day he would be with Jesus in Heaven. When people speak of Rex they always mention what great character he had. He was loving, dedicated, caring and he always put everyone's needs and happiness before his. He was a very hands on Papa to his grandchildren. He liked to use situations to encourage his grandchildren, build them up and teach them good character traits, morals and values that would please God. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, September 26, 2011 at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, 6727 Kuttshill Dr. NE, with Pastor Matt Zainea officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE. Burial at Assumption Cemetery.
