Luther James McCrumb

Luther James McCrumb age 90 was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Green Acres in Lowell, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Mary Kay of 66 years, his parents George and Irene McCrumb, his brother Richard and sister George Anne. Luther is survived by his children, Michael (Tracy) McCrumb, Kathy Schreiber, Susan (Mark) Warkoczeski; grandchildren, David (Michelle) McCrumb, Stephen Barrus, Bryan (Taylor) Warkoczeski, Molly (Tom) Sorenson, Matthew Warkoczeski, Megan McCrumb, Elizabeth Warkoczeski, Ryan McCrumb; great grandchildren, TJ Sorenson, Aubrey Sorenson, Luca McCrumb, Cora McCrumb, Sam Sorenson, Addison and Emerson Barrus; sister in law Dodie McCrumb. Luther James, who always preferred to be called Jim was quite a character. He enjoyed talking to people and seemed to know just about everyone who worked at Meijer. Jim was a veteran of the US Air Force and his parents received some impressive letters of accommodation while he was serving. When he met Kay, he was almost immediately enamored with her and she with him. They were married for 66 years and enjoyed going to the beach and enjoying the water and the sunshine. Jim thought Kay was such a beautiful woman.When she passed, he layed right next to her holding her close and we could hear him saying “are you my baby”? He told her how very much he loved her as the staff and their 3 children attempted to hold back tears. Finally, after 2 1/2 years apart, Jim joined Kay in heaven where they will both be at peace.
