Luis Antonio Ortero

Luis Antonio Otero, age 70, of Grand Rapids was called home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday March 11, 2026 surrounded by his family.  He was born October 26, 1955 to the late Eugenio and Fernanda Otero and raised in Ciales, Puerto Rico. Luis enjoyed playing the percussion at church and was very faithful to his Lord and Savior.  He enjoyed various activities throughout his life such as cooking, playing softball, singing, swimming. Above all, he was a devoted father who enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren, taking great joy in making them laugh and raising them in a family with strong morals.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Elizabeth (Miguel) Cruz, Daniel and David Otero, Loyda (Ricky) Medina, Noemi Otero. Also surviving are seven grandchildren:  Gianna, Michael, Lilianny, Jaysian, Aya, Emmanuel, Moses.  Surviving are his brothers and sisters:  Anna Otero, Sonia Otero, Evelyn Otero, Carmen D. Otero, Carmen I. Otero, Miguel A. Otero, Luis A. Otero and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Jorge Morales officiating.  Burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 3 - 6 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
