Lucille Elders

Lucille Elders, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 1, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gene Scholma; sisters and brothers, Jessie and Enno Wolthuis, Rena and Simon Walburg, Dora and John Achtyes, Martha and Gordon VanTuinen, Gertrude and Peter DeYoung, Sam Zylstra, Edwin Zylstra, Peter and Gertrude Zylstra; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John H. and Alberta Elders, Marvin and Esther Elders, Lewis and Albertha Elders.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 69 years, Alfred; children, Fred and Carol Elders, Diane Scholma, Marcia Elders and David Apol, Duane and Linda Elders, Dale and Cathy Elders, Lori and John Oosterman; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herm and Joanne Zylstra; sisters-in-law, Cora  Hoogerwerf, Gezina Zylstra; many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 11 am at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett St. SW, Grandville with Rev. Dale Fopma officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, April 15 from 4-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Christian Reformed Conference Grounds or Grandville Calvin Christian School Foundation.  The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Georgetown Cambridge Manor for their love and compassionate care given to Lucille.
