Louise Gebraad

Louise M. Gebraad, age 99, formerly of Hudsonville, was taken into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 10, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Neal Tamboer, who sacrificed his life during WWII and her great great grandson, Parker Phillip Plakmeyer who passed away at birth. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 77 years, Gerald; children: Kay and Dan Wolma, Richard and Marianne Gebraad, Douglas Gebraad and James Fitzmaurice; grandchildren: Deborah (David) Lidgard, Douglas (Beth) Wolma, Kevin (Gina) Wolma, Gregory (Jaclyn) Gebraad, Curtis (Renee) Gebraad, Megan Gebraad and Kyle Gebraad; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; twin sister, Lorraine VanderMeulen; many nieces and nephews. Louise was a loving, warm, caring mother and grandmother who was dedicated to her faith in God and her family. She loved to bake cookies, breads, and sticky buns for the kids and grandkids. Louise was very active in her church and various church groups. She loved to travel and spend time with friends and family playing cards. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave. SW. with Pastor Matt Cook officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, as well as one hour prior to the service at church. Interment  Fairplains Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Camp Geneva.
