Remembering Lorraine Parbel

After a long and happy life, our mom, Lorraine Parbel, went home to Jesus on Saturday, July 25, 2020, surrounded by her daughters. She was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, Pete; her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Andi; brother, Bill DeGraff; sister-in-law, Marie Tarasiewicz; brothers-in-law, Bud Burris and Doug Dauber; numerous family members and life long friends. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Pam (Dave) Bayko, Trish (Bill) Tuffelmire, Paula Blackmore; grandchildren: Lisa and Ethan Buist (Maddie and Aidan), Peter and Jen Parbel (Pete, Vera, and Sylvia), Sarah and Jeff Palumbo (Grayson, Parker, and Ella), Beth (partner, Brent) Parbel (Phoenix), Blair Nichols (Hudson, Hailey, Bentley, and Zadie), Kendal and Dan Lautzenheiser  (Gabriel, Breya, and Jemma), Celeste Blackmore and Jessica Nobert and family; sisters, Marylou Burris, Lee Dauber; brothers, Simon (Joy) Tarasiewicz, Don Tarasiewicz; brother-in-law, Ed Kilmartin; sister-in-law, Dolores Parbel; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friend, Marge Gire.  Mom was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. She loved ceramics, traveling, shopping, visiting with the homebound, and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. She was a long time member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 31, 2020. Visitation will be held Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.

Deepest sympathy’s from the Mary Goretzka Family, we enjoyed all the wonderful years we spent growing up with your family. Mom & your Mom were great friends for many years; her love of God & family was an integral part of her daily life. She will be missed by all of us🙏

— Pat Reed (Goretzka)

As a young women your mom was certainly beautiful, I can see why Uncle Pete fell in love with her. Not only for her outside beauty, but for the loving and caring woman she was. Our mom always told us that Pete was head over heals in love with her and that no one else would do. They were lucky they found each other and are now reunited.
