Lorraine H. Russo

I would like to honor my Aunt Lori. She was my mom Eileen's sister. My mom passed a 40 years ago on Oct 8. Lorraine was by my side to say say good bye to Eileen. She was an extreme comfort to me even as she was losing her sister way too soon. I was in awe of my aunt from the time I had my first memories. She had a huge family of her own but she was always there to take care of us too. I remember her cooking Italian pasta and homemade meatballs all day for so many to beg for and totally enjoy! I never understood how she could balance her many children, my favorite cousins, a job and a caretaker to many with such kindness and grace. Her smile was completely beautiful and contagious! I especially want to thank her for her selfless devotion in caring for my uncle Gene when he struggled and passed from Parkinson's. She was there also to care for her older sister my aunt Bernie for years. She was a role model for me as how to sacrifice for and prioritize family. I send condolences and prayers to my cousin's who were there caring for their mom. She was truly a very special individual. She is loved and will be sorely missed. I rejoice in her life and her reunion with Grandma , Gene, Bernie and Eileen.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of my Aunt Lori, who was my Mothers Sister. I have very fond memories of her. She was a strong woman of Great Character and a Role Model to anyone who knew her. She was tough, but always treated others with dignity, respect and kindness. She had a Heart of Gold. I remember one summer when I got a terrible sunburn at the beach where we were camping. She helped my mother take care of me for the days I was laid up in a tent. I really appreciated it ! She totally calmed my father down when he went ballistic over seeing me lying there in that tent, beet red. She went to the store and found a spray ointment that greatly eased the excruciating pain I was in. It was her discovery and she saved me from going crazy from the pain and discomfort. I'll never forget that. Looking back there are few women in my life that I have had as much respect for as my Aunt Lori. Anyone who ever knew her knows exactly what I'm talking about. She set the bar very high when it comes to ones Moral Compass, Integrity, Kindness, Devotion and Willingness to Help Others. I know she is up there now in Heaven alongside my Mother, looking after us all as a Guardian Angel..
