Remembering Lola J. Thomas
Lola J. Thomas, age 91 , born on January 30, 1928 to George and Francis Sanderson in Chesaning, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 9, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas; parents, George and Francis Sanderson; daughter, Rebecca Dickson; brothers, Harley, Gale, Marlo, Leonard and Jack Sanderson; sister, Myrle Robinson. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Nystrom, Tom Dickson, Alan and Jackie (Heth) Dickson, Brian and Colleen (Shoemaker) Thomas, Jeffrey and Christine (Kasper) Thomas; 16 Grandchildren; 42 Great Grandchildren and 13 Great Great Grandchildren. Lola was a loving mom and caring person. She was a long time member at Grand Rapids First church. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 am at Grand Rapids First Church (Wyoming) 2100 44th St. SW, with Rev. Brian Thomas officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 5 to 8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Wyoming) 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW., and from 9:30 to 10:30 am Thursday prior to the service at church. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, MI. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland, MI.
