Lois Van Dyke

Lois M. Van Dyke, age 88, of Hudsonville, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 24, 2025, with her husband by her side. She was born October 20, 1936, to the late Maynard and Clara Vander Wal. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald Van Dyke; they were married June 10, 1958, and celebrated nearly 67 years of marriage together. She was sustained by her faith and hope in Christ her Savior, and participation in the life and work of the church was always a major focus of her life. Lois enjoyed rockhounding and metal detecting with her husband, and she especially liked bargain-hunting at garage sales.  Surviving besides her husband are her four sons: David Allen (Rebecca), James Lee (Gay Lynn), Dale Jay (Misaki), and Michael John Van Dyke, plus a special ‘daughter’ from India, Rajini (Talli) Nanda Van Farowe; twelve grandchildren: Daniel (Carmen) VanDyke, Elizabeth (Andrew) Bock, Benjamin (Allison) VanDyke, Sarah (Justin) Curtis, Cory (Kara) Van Dyke, Camron (Jenny) Van Dyke, Isaac Van Dyke,  Paul (Kylie) Van Dyke, Faith Van Dyke, Abby Van Dyke, Emily Van Dyke, and Ethan Van Dyke; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Lois is also survived by her brother, Henry (Jan) Vander Wal; her sisters, Ruth (Jack) Dood and Ardith (Bill) Arnold; brother-in-law, Robert (Marva) Van Dyke and sister-in-law, Phyllis (Mark) DeYoung; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Howie Van Dyke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 31, 2025, at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, 6442 36th Ave., Hudsonville with Rev. Philip Vos officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 3-5 pm or 7-9 pm at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, and on Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Cornerstone United Reformed Church Mission Fund.
