Lois Roosien

Lois June (Por) Roosien, age 94, of Wyoming, entered heaven’s glory on Christmas Eve night, December 24, 2018. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She enjoyed the flea market, drawing, and watching the birds. Lois was blessed with a great sense of humor and always had a joke or two to tell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Jim Elders; her great-grandsons, David and Nicholas Elders; along with her brothers and sisters. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lynn Elders, Mike and Joan Roosien, Pat and Jack DeVries; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Hank Vlaardingerbroek officiating. Interment will be held at Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Christian Rest Home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the aides and nurses for the love and care given to Lois during her time at the Christian Rest Home. She touched so many with her sweet smile; saying hello to everyone she passed in the halls and sometimes even stopping to tell a joke!
