Lois Henrietta Vredevelt

Vredevelt, Lois H. (Ludwick), aged 100 years, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in Belmont, MI. She was born on March 26, 1924 in Alpine Township, MI to Martin and Zula (DePorter) Ludwick. A woman of strong faith, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Her family was a great blessing and source of joy in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Sr; daughter-in-law, Carol Vredevelt; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Rev. Cleo Ludwick, Rev. Ralph and Eva Ludwick; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Robert VanDyke; sisters-in-law, Carole Pawloski and Eileen Rice. 

She will be deeply missed by her children, Robert Jr, Paul, Janice Pursley, and Nancy (Daniel) Pawloski; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Daniel) Voights; former daughter-in-law, Linda V. VanderRoest; along with many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lois enjoyed reading, gardening, solving crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with her family and friends. Her compassion, generosity, sense of humor, and kindness will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11am at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with Pastor Tim Hall officiating. Private inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends from 10am to 11am prior to the service.
