Linda Rae Baskin

Linda Rae Baskin, age 67, of Grand Rapids, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, June 25, 2015 and went to be with her Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, John Deetjen. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Melvin; daughter, Lisa and Brian Wood; grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor; mother, Alice Deetjen; sisters, Judy Abruscato, Margo Deetjen, Brenda and Lloyd Garner. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-5pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. A private graveside service will be held at St. Sebastian Cemetery.

I went to high school at Lakeshore with Linda. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. I did not see her after her move to Grand Rapids but I heard she had been ill for sometime. Knowing she had been so active in her life I was deeply saddened. I will remember her always as a beautiful person. My regards to her family.

Mel and family, My dear old friend, Linda is now at peace and will watch over you all from heaven. I met Linda when she came to the "old" Stewart School in Stevensville when we were part of 4 girls in the 4th grade class. We weren't close friends thru high school, but we were friends and I feel your loss with an ache in my heart. Life is fleeting, Linda is now at peace but will be terribly missed by those who loved her most. My sincerest sympathies to your family.
