Linda Lovins, age 77, of Jenison, entered heaven’s gates while surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Throughout her life Linda loved animals. When she and Doug were first married, she owned a Palomino horse and later she enjoyed a brief stint as a dog groomer. She also loved to bake and was famous among those who knew her for her banket and fudge. Linda also had quite a green thumb and enjoyed gardening around the house, she especially loved pink carnations. Linda also took pride in her car, an 85 Cutlass Supreme, which she took to many car shows and won several awards for. Above all else though, Linda loved and took pride in her family. She loved nothing more than being a grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Millbourne and Bertha DeHaan; grandma, Minnie VandeKopple; stepfather, Willard Erickson; parents-in-law, Lyle and Ethel Lovins; stepmother-in-law, Mildred Lovins; sisters-in-law, Phillis VanderWerf and Maryanne. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Douglas E. Lovins; sons, Douglas J. (Karen) Lovins, and Derek Lovins; grandchildren, Kayla, Shelby, Nathan; great-grandson, Zion; siblings, James (Peg) DeHaan, Gay (Dave) Verberg, Beverly (Kevin) Kish, Nancy (Rick) Hickey; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Steve Starks officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
