Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Linda Mae Kingma (née Pierson), age 57, of Grand Rapids, passed away on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born March 13, 1968, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Linda grew up in Jenison and graduated from Jenison High School. She lived her life with a fun-loving spirit, a caring heart, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Linda was happiest in her roles as “Mom” and “Nana.” She poured love into every meal she cooked and every gathering she hosted. Her legendary meatloaf and her St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage were traditions her family and friends looked forward to each year. Her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will always remember the joy of her “Nana cookies” and her constant readiness with snacks, hugs, and laughter.
She carried a strong work ethic, loved what she did, and knew how to keep her work life and home life balanced. Outside of work, she filled her days with music, finding joy in everything from Rush and AC/DC to The Rolling Stones, Metallica, and Jimmy Buffett. Concerts were a favorite pastime, and she cherished the energy and memories they brought.
Above all, Linda will be remembered for her humor, her boundless care for her family, her love of cooking, and for being the world’s best mom and nana — with no close second.
She is survived by her husband, Todd Kingma; her son, Scott and Allison Aardema, grandchildren, Theodore and Eleanor; her stepdaughter, Morgan Kingma; birth mother, Maria Blue Jackson; her brother, Mark and Betsy Pierson and their children, Geralynn, Simon, and Sam; her brother, Kevin Pierson; and her sister, Diana and Todd Fuller and their children, Britton, Madison, and Hope. Additionally, she is survived by everyone who lovingly called her “Mom.”
Linda’s memory will live on in the countless lives she touched, the family she loved so deeply, and the joy she brought to every room she entered.”
