Linda Bishop

Linda Bishop, age 68, of Hudsonville, passed away to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2025. Linda was a nurse for many years at University of Michigan West (formerly Metro Health). She loved caring for others and was very active in her church including serving in the nursery for many years. She loved to travel the world with friends. Most of all, she loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Scott; children: Lisa Bishop (Eric Bankard), Michael Bishop (Molly Dobb); grandchildren: Ian Bishop, Bella and Brandon Bankard; mother, Chieko (Jim) Diephouse; siblings: Jerry De Wit, Deborah (Paul) De Heer, Jennifer Kemper, Steve De Wit, Mark De Wit, Renae De Wit; many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend, Melodie Springer. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward De Wit.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Pat Binish officiating. A private burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

I met Linda at Metropolitan Hospital in 1979. She was my preceptor as a new nurse. I was so blessed to have worked and trained with such a caring, compassionate nurse. I had the privilege of working with Linda for many years as we both were LPNs at Metro Hospital. It was always great to work with her. Always positive, and always willing to help others. She was one of the most caring nurses I have ever met. Later my husband and I had the pleasure of being neighbors to her daughter Lisa and her husband Eric. Linda will be missed by so many.
