Lillian Taylor

Lillian Blanche Taylor, aged 92 of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Taylor; brothers, John Osborn, Noel Osborn; sister, Bonnie Vance; sisters-in-law, Marge Osborn, Rosemary Osborn, Emma Ruth Osborn; brother-in-law, Clark Fleming. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Karen) Taylor, Susan (Larry) Sugarbaker, Annette (Mark) Erbes; grandchildren, Stephen (Jenny) Sugarbaker, Sarah Sugarbaker, Megan Erbes, Matthew (Nikki) Erbes; sister, Marnie Fleming; brother-in-law Miles Vance. Blanche was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church where her husband served as the senior pastor from 1971 - 1978. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Trinity and at other former churches as well. Over the course of her life she directed church choirs, taught Sunday School, and was active in United Methodist Women. She was an elementary school teacher, retiring after many years of service. While living at Clark Retirement Community, she directed the Chapel Choir for 13 years and continued to play piano for various functions until her death. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 18 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1100 Lake Drive, Grand Rapids with Visitation prior to the service at 10:30am, and luncheon to follow the service.
