KIMBERLIN - Lillian Marie Kimberlin of Comstock Park, MI, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2016. Lillian was born in Kennett, MO., on August 29, 1926 to John and Myrtle Phillips. Moved to Flint, MI where her father got a job at GM. She had 5 sisters and lived in a 2 bedroom home with an outhouse. Her dad raised chickens and made their mattresses out of chicken feathers. Taught to work hard and do a good job, she always said, "You can be poor, but you don't have to be dirty!" She went to school up to the 10th grade, at Bendle High and when the war started, worked at GM. She married Clare Kimberlin in 1946 and had 4 children. She loved to plant flowers and had a talent for painting and knitting. Always willing to give her 2 cents with a "Let me tell ya somethin honey" attitude. A loving and dear mother, Lillian NEVER missed a birthday. She loved Christ and His teachings, loved to dance and watch sports. She was a great Cribbage player and would laugh at you when she won. Survived by her sister, Virginia (Leo) Casady; her children, Ron (Deb) Kimberlin, Dennis (Betsy) Kimberlin, Laura (Jim) McKay; daughter-in-law, Gale Kimberlin; her grandchildren, Mike, Renae, Erin, Mark, Sarah, Jean and Sean; 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle (Pruitt) Phillips; sisters, Bea Byce, Nev Lewis, Nora Sanborn, Lucille Morgan; divorced husband, Clarence Kimberlin; son, Stephen Kimberlin and grandson, Luke Kimberlin. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Grace Fellowship Church, 735 Buth NE. Her family will greet relatives and friends Monday from 1 to 3PM and 6 to 8PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE., and one hour prior to the service at church.
