sorry for your lost, I knew Lew from my Grandfather, Harold Johnson, was part of the Motorcycle Police also. I have the same (replica) picture of the Original Motorcycle Police Force in my house, Was working here at MapleCreek when I found out who Lew was and was able to take time to talk with him as he showed me the same picture. Was glad to meet Lew and let him know that other people like me will always remember him with an awesome picture of our History of Grand Rapids Police Dept. Brian Johnson

Mrs Vandermeer and Family: My prayers to Jesus for your comfort at this time. I worked with Lew at Meijer. He was my trainer! Lew was an absolutely wonder man. His love for his family and respect for GRPD was obvious at all times. I have missed working with him since his "Meijer" retirement and have thought of him often. He is a very special man and will be missed. With Jesus' blessings, Denise Rudman
