Lewis Miles McDonald, age 98, of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 14, 2021 surrounded by his three daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Stephanie, 2nd wife of 20 years, Beverly, daughter Andrea, and son-in-law, Fred Peters. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Judy (partner Pat Pinder) Peters, Maureen (Ken) Rutgers, Mary (Scott) Beckman, Nancy (Doug) Cameron, John Biehl; grandchildren: Phillip (Linda) Peters, Joe (Amber) Peters, Ben (Falon) Peters, Cory (Kevin) Margul, Katie (Brian) Heckman, Olivia Beckman, Nathan (Lauren) Beckman, Julia (Andy) Young, Katie Biehl; great grandchildren: David, Will, Joseph, Alex, Andrew, Joshua, JJ, Avery, Harper, Kaitlyn, Corbin, Lily; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was known as Munga to all his grandchildren and many others, which he loved. Lew owned his plumbing business, Lew McDonald Plumbing. He loved to play cards, fish, deer and beer hunt with the “Bloodshot Antler Club.” He was a man of faith and was a founding member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-17 pilot and enjoyed sharing stories of his 14 missions in his plane, French Dressing. He loved to play Setback with the boys. Lew enjoyed spending time at the cottage at Indian Lakes and driving down dirt roads to look for deer. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Boulder Creek Senior Living for the loving care that Lew received. Many thanks to the O’Hara family for the love and care that they showed for Uncle Lewie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Fr. John Vallier presiding. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 3 - 8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
