Leverne Bearinger

*Notice change in date of service* Leverne Jay Bearinger, age 91, of Jenison, passed away peacefully at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods on Friday, January 5, 2024, and went to be with the Lord. He was a truck driver for Spartan Stores for 37 years and was proud to be accident free. Vern’s hobbies included camping, traveling, biking, fishing, and puttering around in his yard. Vern had a special gift of caring for others. Even during his stay at Trillium, he was helping others and befriending them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; and son, Steve Bearinger. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Laurie (Andy) Pummel, Connie (Larry) Parks; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Sarah Juist officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Parkwood Presbyterian Church or Faith Hospice.
