Leonard Stratton

STRATTON - Mr. Leonard "Keith" Stratton, aged 85 of Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Beatrice; daughters, Bonnie (Raymond) Crockford, Karen Castillo; grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Crockford, Traci (Jon) Kuehl, Marc (Adele) Castillo, LeighAnn and Bryan Castillo, Alycia (Ryan) Prelewitz; great grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Kuehl, Kendra, Davia, Anya, Josiah and Aven Castillo; brothers, LeRoy (Hope) Stratton, Jerry (Kathy) Stratton; sisters, Maxine Butkus, Marilyn (Peter) McLenithan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lyle; sisters, Mary Jean Reed and Lorayne Tanis; and son-in-law, Joseph Castillo. Keith proudly served his country and Flag with the 5th Division 28 Marine Unit US Marine Corp during WWII and was an Iwo Jima survivor. He was a member of the VFW Post 702, American Legion Post 154 and the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Stratton was very active in the Wyoming City Government and the former Wyoming Rodeo. He and Beatrice spent over 23 years wintering in Zepherhills, FL. He retired from GM Diesel Equipment after 32 ½ years. Military Honors by the Kent County Veteran's Honor Guard will be held 11:00AM Friday April 8, 2011 at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. Graveside services will take place at 1:30PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
