Leona Nyenhuis-Miedema

Leona Nyenhuis-Miedema, age 82, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, George.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Elmer Miedema; children and grandchildren, Gregory and Sandy Nyenhuis (Betsy and Paul Phillips, Julie), Gary and Phyllis Nyenhuis (Kyle and Shilee, Courtney and Steve Hines, Nicole and David Visser), Gaylord and MaryBeth Nyenhuis; eight great grandchildren; siblings and in-laws, (Gerald and Grace Karns-both deceased), (Barney and Nora Veltema-both deceased), Herm (Mary-deceased) Boes, John and Marge Vander Wal, (Tom-deceased), Jackie Porter, Bert and Joanne (his first wife, Barb-deceased) Boes, Howard (Phyllis-deceased) Nyenhuis, (Wayne Nyenhuis-deceased), Louise and Jim Johnson, Don (Marlene-deceased) Nyenhuis, Terry and Theressa Nyenhuis, Irene (Harv-deceased) Brouwer; the Elmer Miedema family; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 am at First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church, 8541 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center with her brother, Pastor Bert Boes, and her pastor, Rev. Ron Noorman officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-5 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and from 10:00-10:45am on Monday at church, prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Love INC or Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference Center in Muskegon.
